MALCOLM HARRIS
— Managing Director / Public Accountant
Malcolm is the Managing Director of Stapleton Tax and Accounting Solutions and has worked in taxation and accounting since 1997. A Registered Tax Agent, qualified accountant and Fellow of the Institute of Public Accountants (FIPA), Malcolm brings almost three decades of experience to the business.
Having worked closely with individuals and small businesses throughout his career, Malcolm combines his technical knowledge with the practical experience that comes from having owned and managed businesses himself. He takes a hands-on approach and believes that good accounting and tax advice needs to be understandable, practical and relevant to what the client is trying to achieve.
As Managing Director, Malcolm remains actively involved with clients while leading the business and supporting the wider Stapleton team. Outside the office, Malcolm enjoys camping with his family when time permits, while also contributing his time and experience to support a local not-for-profit organisation.
AARON CATTLE
— Public Accountant
Aaron has worked in taxation and accounting since 1999 and has been a longstanding member of the Stapleton team. A Registered Tax Agent, qualified accountant and Fellow of the Institute of Public Accountants (FIPA), Aaron brings more than 25 years of experience working with individuals and small businesses.
Over that time, Aaron has developed extensive knowledge across taxation, accounting and business matters and has worked with clients from a diverse range of industries. His long history with the business also gives Aaron an extensive understanding of many of our clients and their affairs, developed through years of working closely with them.
Aaron takes a practical approach to working with clients, drawing on his years of experience to help them understand their obligations and work through the issues affecting their businesses. Away from the office, Aaron has a keen interest in fitness and enjoys maintaining an active and healthy lifestyle.
SAMUEL (SAM) NIKCEVICH
— Public Accountant
Sam joined the Stapleton team in 2020 after completing Bachelor of Business and Bachelor of Accounting degrees at Monash University in 2019. Since then, Sam has developed from a graduate accountant into an experienced member of the accounting team and is now a Registered Tax Agent and Member of the Institute of Public Accountants (MIPA).
Sam works across the full range of taxation, accounting and business services provided by the business and has taken on increasing responsibility within the team. With a strong interest in finding solutions to technical and technology-related issues, Sam has developed into one of the team’s go-to people when a problem requires investigation and resolution.
A keen sports follower, Sam is a passionate Collingwood supporter, enjoys recreational golf and occasionally swaps shorter distances for the considerably greater challenge of a marathon.
WARREN PATERSON
— Public Accountant
Warren joined the Stapleton team in 2023, bringing with him a longstanding client base and a wealth of experience accumulated over many years in the accounting profession.
A qualified accountant and Fellow of the Institute of Public Accountants (FIPA), Warren has spent much of his career working directly with individuals and small businesses. Having previously operated his own accounting business, Warren brings not only considerable taxation and accounting knowledge, but also the practical understanding that comes from many years of advising clients and running an accounting business.
Warren’s depth of experience allows him to bring a practical perspective to client matters, drawing on the many different situations he has encountered throughout his career.
Away from accounting, Warren has a longstanding involvement with Little Athletics and continues to contribute his time to the sport.
LEO GROENEN
— Public Accountant
Leo joined the Stapleton team in 2023, bringing many years of experience across taxation, accounting and bookkeeping.
In addition to his work with Stapleton, Leo works within the specialist self-managed superannuation fund (SMSF) accounting sector, giving him particular experience in this area. That knowledge complements his broader accounting and taxation work and adds further SMSF experience to the Stapleton team.
Outside accounting, Leo enjoys keeping active and spending time outdoors. A keen distance runner, he is known for taking the energetic approach to his daily commute, regularly running to and from the office. In his downtime, Leo also enjoys activities that put his analytical and problem-solving skills to the test.
Administration & Client Support
MICHELLE (SHELLEY) KRSLIN
— Business Administration Manager
Shelley joined the Stapleton team in 2018 as Receptionist and has since become an integral part of the day-to-day operation of the business. Over the years, Shelley has progressed through a range of administration roles and today manages much of the business administration and client support across the office.
As Business Administration Manager, Shelley works closely with the accounting team, coordinating administrative operations, supporting clients and staff, and overseeing many of the behind-the-scenes processes that keep the office running.
Shelley plays an important role in connecting our clients, accountants and administration team, helping ensure information gets where it needs to go and matters continue moving forward. Shelley also assists with the training and development of new administration team members.
With experience spanning office administration, business operations and bookkeeping, Shelley has developed extensive knowledge of the business, its systems, clients and processes.
Shelley is known around the office for bringing a sense of humour, plenty of banter and laughter to the team. Outside of work, she enjoys keeping active at the gym and activities that keep her mind engaged.
FAITH VAN STEKELENBURGH
— Receptionist
Faith is the newest member of the Stapleton team and one of the first people our clients are likely to encounter when contacting the office.
Beginning her career in business administration, Faith has embraced the opportunity to learn the role and the workings of an accounting business. Working closely with Shelley and the wider Stapleton team, she assists with reception, client support and the day-to-day administration of the office while continuing to build her knowledge and experience.
Faith brings plenty of energy, enthusiasm and a genuine willingness to learn, along with a can-do approach that has made her a welcome addition to the team.
